My experience in the CCCA is that almost every active member has a non classic collector car of some sort or is interested in them and the days of shunning are gone. The rules of the club are such that non classics aren't allowed on the judging field next to classics, but I doubt that is what you are looking for. I have driven my 39 Packard 6 sedan, a vehicle looked down on by some, to Grand Classics in the past and people were just amazed that I drove to another state in a 39 Packard. The best thing was that once I parked the 6 near the trailers and was walking toward the show field when Gene Perkins spotted Christine and I and asked us if we wanted a ride to the show. We happily accepted - and it was our first ride in a Model J Duesenberg. Talk about arriving! Now I have classics up and running and drive them instead of the 6, but I still have it. Also CCCAers are more and more getting into original cars so if you show up with one, no matter what, you will probably be welcomed. I have also noticed that often regional tours allow modern cars and wouldn't it be better if you had any kind of vintage car rather than modern? As long as people get together and have fun, that is the important thing. Just don't neglect that Auburn, they are fun to drive to. My first ride and first drive in a classic was in a 35 Auburn speedster. Dave Mitchell
