The museum’s focus was on the Packard automobile, which was a long-time passion for Mr. Stone’s. At the time of his death the museum had 39 Packards in its collection. He purchased his first Packard in 1948 for $700. Mr. Stone was an orphan who sold flowers on the streets of New York City during the Great Depression. He went on to own a successful 11-store chain of florist shops, Bunings Florists. The museum was regularly used by area civic organizations, charitable groups and, of course, car clubs.
